PBS PORTRAIT PIECE ON ALBERT TORRES

Internationally Renown Latin Entertainment Promoter Albert Torres
To Be Profiled On Landmark Documentary Series

Los Angeles - On January 30th, 2002, Albert Torres and his company
Albert Torres Productions, Inc will be profiled as a companion piece to an
historic PBS Latino drama series American Family, starring Edward
James Olmos and Raquel Welch, with special appearances by Esai Morales
and Sonia Braga. Directed and created by Academy Award- nominated
director Gregory Nava (El Norte and Selena), American Family will
debut on January 23rd at 8:00pm (check local listings) being
accompanied and complimented by a new national documentary series,
Realidades, profiling Latin American's and their contributions to
Latin culture and lifestyle.
Albert Torres and his company Albert Torres Productions, Inc have garnered
a reputation worldwide as the premier promoter of Salsa music. The
City Of Los Angeles and Councilman Nate Holden for his many
contributions in Latin Entertainment, recently honored Torres. Torres,
a Puerto Rican born and raised in New York was inspired by his
mother's talent and passion for the various sensual styles of Salsa
dancing. Torres attained international success and acclaim for his
smooth dancing ability and sharing his enthusiasm for Salsa dancing
and music globally with people of all ages. The PBS portrait piece on
Torres and his company will provide a colorful insight into his life
and past and how Torres overcame his brief addiction to drugs and
alcohol by returning to his roots and love of Salsa dancing and music.
